The Membership Award was established in 1964 to recognize the Chapter with the largest percentage increase in membership over the last two years. To be eligible for this award, the Chapter must meet a minimum increase of 10% in membership. Presented during the even year of convention.
Ann Langdon Award was established in 1962 as an incentive for I.E.H.A. Chapters to certify their membership. Langdon worked with educators to develop the 160-hour program and the four-year college degree program. The award has been presented every two years at the Association Convention to the Chapter with the largest percentage increase (meeting a minimum requirement of a 5% increase) of Certified members during the preceding two-year period.
Charles Miller Award, established in 1992, is presented to the District with the largest percentage increase (meeting a minimum requirement of a 2% increase) in Registered members during the preceding two-year period.
Beulah Sanders Award, established in 1968, is presented to the District with the largest percentage increase (meeting a minimum requirement of a 5% increase) in Certified members during the preceding two-year period.
Father Hindel Award was established in 1992 to recognize I.E.H.A. Chapter who promotes the Registered status with their membership. The award is presented every two years at the Association Convention to the Chapter with the largest percentage increase (meeting a minimum requirement of a 2% increase) in Registered members during the preceding two-year period.
Margaret Barnes Diamond Award was established in 1988 as a national outstanding member award. The award criteria is: a person who has made outstanding contributions continually over an extended period of time regarding housekeeping, the Association and its advancement; has meritorious service to all areas of I.E.H.A.; and has written articles showing unusual insight and importance to the housekeeping industry. Award presented during the even-year convention.
Honorary Membership Award is discussed by the committee and various names are submitted for those who clearly represent the criteria. This award is presented during the even-year convention and must be approved by the Association Board during their Spring Board Meeting. A longtime member who has made notable contributions to the Housekeeping Management Profession. A person who has been a huge supporter of I.E.H.A.; a person who has the I.E.H.A. Passion; a person who has lived I.E.H.A.
William D. Joyner Achievement Award, established in 1998 and is given in the honor of William D. Joyner who truly exemplified the word "achievement." The award is presented to a person who has been an achiever in I.E.H.A. growth, research, technical assistance, articles in EHT and written books or guidelines.
The Vendor Award, established in 2005, is for the I.E.H.A. member vendor who signs up the most new I.E.H.A. members, as well as complying with criteria listed below, through August 1, annually. New Member applications must contain the name of the vendor in the “Sponsored by” area on the form. The criteria is:
- Vendor must be a member of I.E.H.A.
- Vendor must sponsor at least one Chapter meeting within the 90 I.E.H.A. Chapters between October 30 and August 1, annually.
- Vendor must provide a minimum of two educational seminars within annually stated time frame to Chapters of their choice.
Vendor who achieves all of the above along with the highest number of new members, will receive a full b/w advertisement in EHT; a free product/services ad on the website; award/recognition presentation will be made at the I.E.H.A. banquet during annual convention.
Golden Broom Award: After the New Orleans convention in 2004, all Districts were encouraged to try to increase their membership by a 30% increase annually. The winner in 2004 was the FID. This award is computed by staff as of June 30, of the even-convention year. This is a traveling "plaque" award.
Superior Chapter Achievement Award: This award is presented during the odd-year convention. The criteria is as follows:

Compliance with minutes/audits, announcements, newsletters: 20 pts.
Significant initiative in education programs: 20 pts.
Communication to membership: 10 pts.
Marketing/recruitment activities: 10 pts.
Public relations for Chapter and Association: 10 pts.
Overall organizational skills (mentoring/training) 10 pts.
Teamwork (as noted in minutes) 10 pts.
Professional presentation of materials: 10 pts.
Point total: 100 pts.
First Place: Traveling Plaque, certificate and $500
Second Place: Certificate, and $350
Third Place: Certificate, and $250
Minutes/reports/newsletters are reviewed by staff no later than August 1, of the odd-year. The top six submitting chapters are discussed with the Executive Committee and the Membership/Awards Chair for final winners.
